7:45 a.m. – The Lakefill

I woke up early on a sunny morning to take photos by the lakefill for a journalism class assignment. Everything seemed nice and calm until I noticed something lying in the grass. Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was a dead fish. It was not store bought, as it still had its scales. I have no idea how it got there; it was about a quarter of a mile away from the lake. What’s even weirder was that it was only half a fish.

7:00 p.m. – Dinnertime

Last day in Montreal. GL and I went to eat at a fancy-looking Italian restaurant located on Crescent for my final meal. A while after we were seated, a waiter came over to us and said something in French. GL responded in English, telling him that we were not ready to order yet. The waiter looked shocked, then put his hands up and said, “Miss, I was just asking how you’re doing today.” He refused to serve us for the rest of the evening.

8:35 p.m. – The Tooth

I bit a gummy bear and the filling behind my front tooth fell out.

Product Review: The HCG Diet

As a person with genetically high metabolism, I am one of those lucky individuals who have never had any weight problems. Now everyone may be able to control their weight with a protein that has long been used to help counter obesity, human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). The HCG diet consists of consuming a total of 500 calories a day and taking daily doses of HCG drops, which will cause the user to lose an average of 1-2 pounds per day. After the 45 day program, one will become significantly slimmer and also have a decreased appetite. This will allow the user to maintain good shape, provided that the user practices healthy eating and performs simple cardio exercises. According to people who have tried the program, 75-90% of users reported little or no difficulty in maintaining their new weight. For more information about HCG and the HCG diet, please visit www.yourhcg.com.

1:05 p.m. – The Streets of Evanston

As I was walking in Evanston on the way to the ‘L’ stop, a fat squirrel jumped out of a flower pot and landed right in front of me. It started to eat its nut in the middle of the sidewalk, oblivious to the fact that it was right in my way. I stared at it, and it stared back at me without moving an inch. I had to scare it before it would scurry away.

9:50 p.m. – At the Movies

Today, MC and I spontaneously decided to go watch Due Date to cap off yet another weekend at college. After buying a Blue Raspberry Icee and some popcorn, we settled into our seats and enjoyed a round of previews. After the usual “turn off your cellphone” message, it was time for the actual movie to start. The film started rolling, and the movie played upside down. Then it suddenly cut to black. For a long time. Everyone in the theater then just sat there and watched a blank screen for ten minutes before the problem was fixed.

11:05 a.m. – The Shower Stall Incident

The day started pretty normally, with me showering before I left for my first class. However, when I came back, the shower stall was not in the same condition as I left it. Someone took a dump in it. The guys proceeded to hold an emergency meeting to get to the bottom of the situation. In the middle of our discussion, a guy said that “it’s okay if you take a dump in the shower, just make sure to clean it up afterwards.” The room fell silent for a moment, and then everyone shouted at the same time, “NO, IT’S NOT OKAY!”

1:20 a.m. – The Creepy Man

When we were huddling after the first stop of Panquake, a drunk, bearded old man walked over and infiltrated the ranks of our group. No one seemed to notice until he started talking and throwing cracker-like objects up in the air. When the assistant master finally asked him to leave, the man touched SS on both shoulders, and proceeded to watch our group from ten feet away.

6:10 p.m. – Dinnertime

When I was getting some dessert at Old Country Buffet, some old man walked up next to me and grabbed my waist.
